The AUA's recommendations regarding follow-up RUS in children with VUR are based on a panel consensus that ongoing assessment of renal growth is important in patients with VUR.[sup.5] The suggestion is based on a premise that renal growth is a marker of renal health, and the presence of gross renal scarring should be detected by follow-up ultrasonography.[sup.5] In our study, 96 out of 100 consecutive patients with established VUR had a stable follow-up RUS.
Four patients had visible change on follow-up RUS and subsequently underwent change in management.
Despite these steps, several risks remain, including a lack of funding for oversight beyond fiscal year 2010 and a lack of updated performance measures to ensure accountability for NTIA and RUS.
In addition, NTIA has yet to define annual audit requirements for commercial entities funded under the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program.
In March 2005, Spears as PCCA co-president, wrote to Claffey expressing PCCA's concern that RUS can and has suspended funding of approved loans before completion of ongoing projects, a practice PCCA says is unprecedented and inconsistent with borrower-contractor relationships practiced during the 60-year history of REA and RUS.
Therefore, there is no contractual obligation or 'guarantee' between contractors and RUS."
After describing the types of writing and how the materials written upon affect these types, Franklin supplies useful information on the language of early Rus: the emergence of an alphabet, the presence of non-Slavic languages, and the traces, if any, which these left in the writing of the early Rus. Part I closes with Franklin's important observation that the middle of the eleventh century marks a watershed for the historian of written early Rus culture: until then, what has survived is meagre; afterwards, Cyrillic writing increases steadily.
In a chapter on writing and learning, Franklin explores the much-debated question of the transmission of writing culture from Bulgaria to Early Rus. In his careful analysis of(principally) Bulgarian writing on such topics as writing as an object, the invention of Slavonic letters, and the problem of translation, Franklin shows how early Rus writers received the fruits of their literary antecedents and made them their own.
