Leaplings

Since, technically, a year consists of 365 days and approximately 6 hours, every four years these hours amount to a full day. In order to synchronize the Gregorian calendar with the astronomical year, a leap day, February 29, is added to the 28-day month once every four years. In 1944, while flying from England to Paris, his plane disappeared under mysterious circumstances, and Miller was never found. What are the theories about what happened? More...

Marshall Islands Memorial and Nuclear Victims Day (2025)

In 1954, the United States detonated Bravo, the most powerful hydrogen bomb ever tested by the United States, on Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands. Many of the people exposed to the fallout radiation began to experience nausea, vomiting, and itching skin and eyes. Those who were most heavily exposed suffered skin burns and later hair loss.
