During that encounter, she was also noted to have right bullous myringitis (purulent inflammation of the tympanic membrane), right parotitis suspected to be mumps, and suspected pneumonia.
Extra pulmonary abnormalities seen in mycoplasma infections include hemolysis, skin rash, chemical hepatitis, encephalitis, meningitis, rhythm disturbance, congestive heart failure, myocarditis, glomerulonephritis, polyarthralgia, myalgia, otitis media, and bullous myringitis [5, 6].
This appearance was similar to that of acute bullous myringitis. (1) Findings on audiometry were within normal limits, but tympanography showed a reduction in mobility on the right side.
